Slate thinks so. It’s calling The Arcade Fire “The Great Rock Hope”, drawing its argument from an alleged “indie rock cult of Bruce Springsteen.” The Hold Steady’s obsession with the Boss is obvious. The Killers, not so much. Cheesy moustaches and tucked-in flannel shirts barely qualify as a Bruce Springsteen homage, and there’s not a trace of him in that band’s corny, synth-rock retreads.
