Tall Dwarf, Chris Knox– my second favorite epileptic, after Ian Curtis, of course. I once had the pleasure of helping book Knox at a hot dog stand (Frank’s) in Columbia, South Carolina. Picked him up at the airport, took him to an In-store at Manifest, had a vegetarian dinner with him, and drove him to the venue. He wore flip flops, a t-shirt, and shorts the entire time. One of the most unpretentious, intelligent, and affable indie rock legends I’ve ever met. He put on an unforgettable show to boot (even sucked one girl’s toes mid-song). “Not Given Lightly” is one of his best and one of my all-time favorites.

He still lives in New Zealand, reviews TV and film for an Auckland newspaper, Real Media, and has a comic strip called Max Media. His latest album Chris Knox and the Nothing came out last year on his own A Major Records label.
