While Gwen Stefani tours her second record, The Sweet Escape, the three remaining members of No Doubt have been busy tracking songs for a new album. The band claims to have “four album’s worth of ideas demoed”, and Stefani will have input from the road. It’s been six years since No Doubt’s Rock Steady, which is an absolute eternity for pop music. Stefani’s high profile solo career should curb any loss of exposure, if it hasn’t already exacerbated the problem. The new record should be out some time in 2008. I recommend avoiding songs that spell bananas.
