I’m not sure how many red lights Van Halen can ignore before deciding to pull the plug on this reunion idea. It’s invariably going to suck, but the money is probably just too tempting, especially for Roth. Everyone is beyond way too old. I know people will flock to this no matter what because it’s been a rock n’ roll pipe dream for so long. But the time has come and gone. If this had happened even ten years ago it might have been passable. But ousting Michael Anthony for Eddie’s son Wolfgang was the final straw in a shitty set of circumstances. Eddie’s been drunk for years, looking like a bulimic toothless witch, though, now supposedly clean. Van Halen will get paid just to show up, regardless of how awful the show is. But long-time Van Halen fans know in their guts that this is a train wreck waiting to happen.
Van Halen will probably tour this fall despite the giant cloud of ‘bad idea’ floating above their collective heads

The Classic van halen was an exciting band of youth and vigor, that is gone, this isn’t the type of music that matures it should alway be youthful. Most of Roth’s charm was his hair and acrobatics on stage and both are gone, so is his voice. Van Halen was more exciting with the young sexy Roth, and his constant opinions were interesting when he was voluptous, now he just sounds like an old Jew complaining.
