Springsteen & the E Street Band release ‘Magic’ on Oct. 2

Billboard is reporting Columbia Records will release Magic — the newest record from Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band — on October 2. It represents the first studio collaboration between Springsteen & Co. since 2002’s The Rising, which was in itself their first studio album together since 1984’s Born in the U.S.A.

In other words, Magic marks only their third studio record together in the past 23 years.

The songs were recorded and mixed at Atlanta’s Southern Tracks Recording Studio by Brendan O’Brien, representing his third collaboration with Springsteen. Already, the popular Springsteen fan site, Backstreets, has taken stock of today’s coverage, giving special consideration to Read McShane’s Associated Press account and Andy’s Green’s “exclusive” coverage for Rolling Stone.

The tracklist:

1. Radio Nowhere

2. You’ll Be Comin’ Down

3. Livin’ in the Future

4. Your Own Worst Enemy

5. Gypsy Biker

6. Girls in Their Summer Clothes

7. I’ll Work for Your Love

8. Magic

9. Last to Die

10. Long Walk Home

11. Devil’s Arcade

A North American arena tour is expected to follow. Dates are forthcoming.
