Famous urophiliac R. Kelly ain’t done with his serial slow-jamz soap opera, “Trapped in the Closet,” by a damn sight. Oh, goody.
What began as a sprawling, subversive song in 12 parts has been expanded by 10 episodes, and all of the videos are available for streaming on the Independent Film Channel’s site. Meanwhile, the New York Times reports Jive Records is planning to release a DVD collection of the latest videos, and IFC will broadcast all 22 episodes consecutively, like a film, next month.
“It’s the intersection of brilliance and insanity,” IFC General Manager, Evan Shapiro, told The Times.
More like the intersection of sucks and ass.
The Times piece also explores the whole phenomenon of “Trapped in the Closet,” including a popular commentary show where comedians like Aziz Ansari, Eric Appel, David Cross and Patton Oswalt dissect the plot and field questions from the audience. It was a hit last year in New York and Los Angeles and is scheduled to be reprised on August 25 at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Manhattan.
In other news Mr. Kelly is set to go on trial September 17 in Chicago on child pornography charges. Eight-year-olds, dude.

[…] noise lovers The Wire has confirmed that the familiar-looking policeman in the latest episode of R. Kelly’s infantile hip-hopera Trapped In The Closet is indeed none other than the ‘Prince’ himself. Jesus H. Christ, Will. Is it about the money? […]
