Big Black’s quintessential song live off the infamous Pigpile video and corresponding live album. Steve Albini introduces it sarcastically as “a song Jerry Lee Lewis wrote before he killed one of his wives.” I’ve always loved the sentiment behind this song: there’s nothing to do in this town, so let’s set it on fire. Certain copies of the Pigpile video came with the “In My House” 5″ on clear vinyl.

That in my house cover rocks hard – ten times better than the original!!
It should be noted Big Black leaned quite heavily towards dance music – be it through Roland, the dancy drum patterns, and similar funky bass. They lifted quite a bit from Kraftwerk (just listen to man-machine) and even the Mary-Jane girls’ cover reaffirms that tendency.
Though usually they’re associated with other scenes.
