A friend of mine sent me a blind link to this, warning only, “you will vomit in your mouth.” I had no idea what was coming or what to expect, but this is so much worse than anything I could have possibly fathomed. I realize it’s fair game to cover other band’s songs (unless we’re talking about Prince), but a bunch of sniveling twats like Fall Out Boy covering Joy Division should be some sort of terrorist offense. This is wrong on so many levels. You have to watch it just to understand how truly terrible it is. This fat, gonzo dipshit should be shot on sight for turning Ian Curtis’ vocals into bratty mall punk fluff. Absolutely atrocious.

Yikes. That was just plain bad.
Reminded me of this genius post from My Old Kentucky Blog.
I’m partial to the Nouvelle Vague cover version.

I like Squarepusher’s version and Susannah and the Magical Orchestra moves me almost to tears. The Cure’s not bad I suppose. As for FOB, they just won’t stop. “Hum Hallelujah” off their newest piece of treacle quotes – you guessed it – Leonard Cohen. There should be a law. (Something like your only allowed to ruin a classic for every concomitant shot of your weiner that “magically” finds its way from your Sidekick to the Internets.) I hope they – and their action figures from Hot Topic – end up in an incinerator. After all, as Pete Wentz recently told Blender, he’s only “half-gay.”

Wow, that’s worse than the Paul Young version.
(K, thanks for reminding me of that MOKB post.

that is awful! they cant sing, they should stick to their own crappy songs n not ruin classics. seriously its ruined, Ian Curtis wrote that because he ment every word, their just twats trying to immitate. the origianal is an amazing song.

That makes my ears hurt. Fall Out Boy should be torn apart. But I doubt it will be with love.

*rolls eyes*
ok, so thier cover isn’t that great. But doesn’t this show that they have a whole lot of admiration for Joy Division to do a cover. A whole lot of bands look up to Joy Division and what they did. Get over it. Seriously. This doesn’t make them any less musicians. And come on! A bunch of kids today wouldn’t know who Joy Division is if it weren’t for bands doing covers. The fan base has grown because of things like this.

to the guy of the previous comment:
nowday kids doesn’t search in google about Joy Division, ’cause they doesn’t care!
They’re happy listening to Fall Out Boy…most of them think that is a original song.

I couldn’t believe it when I found out that some hot-topic-MTV band covered this amazing song. PFFFT! RIDICULOUS!
