A Deluge of Dylan

Billboard has unveiled the track lists for the upcoming Bob Dylan retrospectives, which are set for an Oct. 2 release in the states. Also in the cue is the documentary, The Other Side of the Mirror, which collects rare and unseen footage from Dylan’s popular and polarizing performances at the Newport Folk Festivals from 1963-65. Filmed by Academy-Award winning director Murray Lerner, the DVD is scheduled for release at the end of October.

In the interest of self-reference, we recently touched on the upcoming, unorthodox Dylan biopic and the unfortunate re-working of his “Most Likely You’ll Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine).”

There’s already a slew of Dylan compilations and collections circulating about, so I’m not exactly sure why Columbia Records is putting this out there right now. Still, if the posthumous handling of Johnny Cash’s catalog is any indication, Dylan devotees might want to start a seperate savings account post haste.
