Sure, I guess eight years ago counts as retro, especially considering people’s attention spans today. This video is practically ancient history. “Future World” was the title track off Trans Am’s 1999 album, and this extremely lo-fi video manages to balance the band’s inherent silliness with its aloof, art school pretentiousness. And it’s a kick ass, amped-up Kraftwerk rip-off to boot. The band seems to have caved under the weight of its own post-ironic schtick in recent years, never again capturing its first few records’ robotic intensity.

yeah, that bush condemnation record a few years ago was sheer rubish. everyone knows that guy sucks a joey fatone. you heard the new one – “sex change?” wasn’t what i expected…know what i mean, verne?
