Rolling Stone is citing a post on a forum as its source, so whether this is legitimate news is up to you, but the rumor is that Heroes star Hayden Panettierre is set to portray the Plasmatics’ legendary front-woman, Wendy O. Williams, whose decade-spanning on-stage antics resulted in beatings, bans, and endless controversy. Williams is far more famous for her shock-rock tendencies than her music, but the Plasmatics had a loyal following, nonetheless. Williams committed suicide in 1998 at age 49. If Panettierre ends up doing this, I’d be forced to say I’m a fan. Her image would certainly be a little rougher around the edges. Filming is scheduled to start in March of 2008 with a late 2009 release date.

Isn’t she kind of the opposite of Wendy O? Wendy O was a tall, plain girl with a spectacular figure and Hayden is short, super-cute, with a more average figure
