Thom Yorke snubs Sir Paul McCartney’s duet invitation

So, Thom Yorke shoots down Paul McCartney for a duet request. He is a Beatle, but I still don’t blame Yorke’s decision. What’s Paul done for you lately? Or in 20 years? The Starbucks record? Poor Paul had to comment on the rebuff publicly, explaining how Yorke had said “he couldn’t because he only felt happy working on his own and Radiohead’s material.” Hmm. That seems like a fair excuse, except for the fact that Yorke gladly lent his voice to PJ Harvey for her track “This Mess We’re In” off 2000’s Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea, not to mention his duet with Bjork on Selma Songs, the soundtrack to Lars Von Trier’s ultra-chipper Dancer in the Dark. Surely, Yorke knew his excuse was thin at best. Or, perhaps, he’s made a resolution never to duet again. And, if he won’t make an exception for a Beatle, who’s got a shot?

Man. I absolutely love that PJ Harvey track. I wish those two would do an album together.

What else good in life is there, Tomas? Politics? Food? The opposite sex?

No; I think we’re all quite happy where we are.

    But thanks for the suggestion.
