I Kissed A Girl
Wow. I have only even heard 2 of the top 10 songs of summer as listed by Time.
My Summer Jams:
1. Katy Perry – I Kissed a Girl (McFly Remix)
2. Cut Copy – Hearts on Fire
3. M83 – Kim & Jessie
4. Stricken City – Tak o Tak
5. Ting Tings – That’s Not My Name
6. Thao Nguyen – Bag of Hammers
7. Crystal Castles – Crimewave (They apparently stole music from the Chip tune community, but this track still rocks.)
8. Santogold – LES Artistes (XXXchange remix) [edited]
9. Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head – Sophisticated Side Pony Tail (yeah, I just heard it the other day, but it is so good I had to include it)
10. Air France – Collapsing at Your Doorstep
Bonus: Anything remixed by Diplo. (the Diplo/Santogold mix tape is amazing).
I’m sure I’m forgetting something amazing that I listened incessantly for weeks, but my memory sucks.
What songs have been your summer jams of ’08?

Hey Arthur!
I’ve never heard of Teddy Thompson. I’ll have to check him out. That entire Vampire Weekend album really is a great one for a chill summer’s evening.

Hey K!
Teddy Thompson is the son of Richard and Linda Thompson.
NPR’s The World had a great profile of Vampire Weekend, describing their unique musical style and its African influence.
