Based on plans by big box shithouses like Best Buy to begin stocking vinyl anachronistically, MVD entertainment has a few vinyl releases on deck, featuring new and rare music by Devo, GG Allin, The Dwarves, and Wendy O. Williams and the Plasmatics. The vinyl resurgence is making money for many of those labels whose CD sales have been nose-diving the last few years. Punknews reports that the decision for MVD to jump on the vinyl bandwagon was a “no-brainer” with stores big and small trying to cash in on the fetishistic collector’s market. Fans are evidently willing to pay more for the bigger artwork and the manual labor of love that is spinning records. On deck: DEVO – Watch Us Work, GG Allin – Freaks, Faggots, Drunks and Junkies, Plasmatics – Wendy O Williams – Beyond the Valley of 1984, and Dwarves – Dwarves Limited 10 Inch.
