With Be Your Own Pet’s sudden, premature, and unceremonious break-up, it’s not exactly surprising that lead singer Jemina Pearl has plans for a solo record. She’s still on Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace! label, which was also home to BYOP. No juicy details as to why the band broke up have surfaced, so in the meantime all we have is a video clip from Gossip Girl (in keeping with the theme for the past 15 hours) featuring Thurston Moore and Jemina Pearl covering the Ramones’ “Sheena Is A Punk Rocker.”
I couldn’t find this anywhere when it first happened, but was reminded of it today by Brooklyn Vegan. Jenny Humphrey’s improbable renegade fashion show was salvaged only by the tune playing in the background.

I still hate Gossip Girl. 90210 is not only better written, better acted and just an all around better show…the girls are so much younger – and by default – hotter.

you are insane. the new 90210 is so awful it’s not even funny. the girls are not hot (excepting silver). and the writing is atrocious. abominable show. gossip girl is far seedier and thus – by default – the winner. sometimes i truly wonder about your taste.
