Lily Allen performed on the Ellen DeGeneres show, making the usual promotional rounds for her new record, It’s Not Me, It’s You, which is all well and good. She perfomed “The Fear”, which I had just seen her play on Leno, so that wasn’t quite as exciting as her stint in the bathroom on Degeneres’ set. Ellen came in to join Lily in the Ladies’ room. They both waited awkwardly for music to start playing on the overhead speakers. It was Britney Spears’ “Womanizer”, which Lily has famously covered. The catch here was that she and Ellen both sang together, and Ellen knew every word, every riff, every hiccup Britney makes in the song. Pretty amusing.
