With my Google Reader having been clogged with SXSW posts all week, I’ve sort of half-heartedly slogged my way through. It’s never very fun reading about a festival you aren’t attending, unless there’s something remarkable or noteworthy. And endless photos and setlists of bands that play every festival anyway hardly seem newsworthy. But Echo & The Bunnymen’s appearance at Austin’s legendary Emo’s club definitely caught my eye. In this fortunate YouTube find, the band rips through the title track off its debut record from 1979 with extra aggression. Frontman Ian McCulloch wore a heavy black coat and sunglasses at 1am in Texas. Love it.

I don’t believe anyone here said it was “Read it in Books.” Where the hell did you read that?

indeed. the post clearly states: “the band rips through the title track off its debut record…”, and the title track was crocodiles.

Inspired me to listen to Crocodiles for the first time in like 15 years. I always listen to Songs to Learn and Sing when I have an Echo hankering.
