Murder By Death is streaming a brand new song on it’s MySpace page as a teaser for the April 6, 2010 release of Good Morning Magpie, its fifth long-player and second for Vagrant Records. The new album was written by vocalist/guitarist Adam Turla on a lonely backwoods sojourn. This first taste, “Foxglove”, shows a remarkably positive side to a band that has made a career out of expressing the highly melodramatic and cathartic plight of the fight against demons and darkness. Turla’s vocals have aged into a thick warble, reminiscent of Johnny Cash, while the music has matured into a more nuanced approach, still replete with strings and tension.
