According to NME, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree plans to run in a local UK council election as a Labour candidate.
Rowntree told The Independent: “I’ve been a long-standing member of the Labour party and active in local politics for a while.”
Despite his fame, NME opines that Rowntree might not have much luck as the Marleybone sector is a tough Conservative stronghold.
As for Blur reunion with Graham Coxon, Damon Albarn has been vocal about his desire to play with the estranged guitarist. And as of last November, even Coxon was coming around to the idea. Here’s to hoping they just fucking get on with it before they’re too old.
