Pelican’s follow-up to 2005’s The Fire in our Throats will Beckon the Thaw, is streaming at Hydra Head records. It’s entitled City of Echoes and comes out Tuesday, May 22. Upon first listen, the instrumental quartet’s latent metal sounds like a departure from the post-rock sheen of Fire. The structures seem a little bland and jammy, especially for not having a vocalist. (via punknews)
