Hey, remember when Gallic drunkstack Serge Gainsbourg told an already uncomfortable Whitney Houston he wanted to idiomatically “fouck” her on French TV? (Yeah, me neither. It was 1986, and I was barely two.) Anyways, a couple of years after recording his infamous “Lemon Incest” with then 12-year-old, daughter-by-Jane Charlotte – whose first album in twenty years 5:55 is ‘effing great – the impish lil’ rake appeared on Michel Drucker’s live talk show and proceeded to get all touchy-feely with the “You Give Good Love” singer. The back and forth banter, translated as best as possible by Drucker, is as entertaining as the zinger that got it put on YouTube in the first place. (Gainsbourg’s thick-tongued Cold War reference is particularly well applied.) One look at Houston’s teased like a fat kid semi-perm, and you just know it’s the ’80s. But after reading such flattering remarks about her in American Psycho, who wouldn’t want to “fouck” her?
