Short reviews can be funny. The hands-down best one ever was by J.D. Considine in Musician magazine back in 1982 for his review of GTR’s self-titled debut. It read “SHT.” Pure gold. Pitchfork’s review today of Black Kids’ Partie Traumatic is not so clever. It’s a picture of an LOLdog with “Sorry” pasted on it and a damning 3.3 rating. It’s certainly not a case of my feathers being ruffled as a Black Kids fan because I can’t stand the band. It’s just a shitty, cop-out review, which seems doubly suspect coming from a site that started the outrageously unjustifiable hype this band received. Pitchfork has stooped to this before with it’s non-review of Jet’s Shine On, which linked to a YouTube clip of a monkey drinking its own urine. Sure, it was a shit record, too, but the review was still a cop-out.
Some people have a way with words; other people…uh, not have way

My favorite joke review is the Nine Inch Nails /Recycle Bin one.
Pitchfork should have used a LOLcat. Dogs just aren’t as funny.
