Billboard has previewed a few songs off the new Queens of the Stone Age, and says it rocks pretty hard. I don’t know what kind of expert Billboard is on rocking, but it’s not too hard to suspend my disbelief, despite overload of psychedelic tangents on the band’s last album, Lullabies to Paralyze.
Mark Lanegan is evidently back in the fold singing on several tracks, and Trent Reznor and Julian Casablancas lend their diverging vocal styles to the mix as well. No word yet if girlfriend-beating-ex-bassist Nick Oliveri will return, although, he did not play a note on the album.
Era Vulgaris is scheduled for release in mid-June via Interscope.
